Some men are born to greatness. 

Some achieve greatness. 

Others fail to meet even the simplest expectation to be human.

Edward Cederberg was a self-made man. A true rags to riches. Edward expected his children to follow his model. They would have to earn their own way. If they chose to work in the family business, their ultimate position and income would depend on their own drive and accomplishments.  Edward liked to say if you want my job, you'll have to take it from my cold dead fingers. Charlie Cederberg wasn't willing to wait that long.
