is deep and wide as my fear,
So I take
your hand to cross,
Lest the
unforgiving current
Of our history,
pull us under.
Our lives,
Sapped of
strength
Are no
longer resilient,
No longer
buoyant.
Love, once
sharp and intense,
Is a
tarnished blade
That
releases your hand from mine.
I feel the
current pull
Swiftly
deciding
Who goes
ahead,
And who is
left behind?
